MORE ON SIGNAL OUTERWEAR AND BOARDS
February 27th, 2009
Here’s a little late video from Vegas with Hammer. Sounds like Matt was talking to much. His voice doesn’t sound so good. His board is so insanely nice. I will be shredding this board next season. You should be to! If your a swedish shredder and want to buy one for next season. Email us!

RECYCLE IT
February 26th, 2009
This is a cool idea. It’s an event in Quebec Canada. They had only recycled jibb-able (if that’s a word) features. The set up looks so fun. If Stuntwood did a jam/comp I’m telling you know it would be something similar to this. No let me rephrase that. WHEN Stuntwood does a jam/comp it will look something like this. Check the video. Let us know your thoughts. Would you shred it?

THE WHITE PIPE
February 25th, 2009
Rumours have been floating around that Shawn White has his own private super pipe out in the middle of Colorado. Transworld posted a pic on their site the other day with a little read about the whole situation. According to a local newspaper they are saying the whole thing is legit and White has a private pipe. Red Bull is the one that payed for this thing with some help from Oakley. A cat was shipped up to the location and this thing was built. Now this all sounds a little to crazy to me. If a cat was shipped up there it’s going to have to stay. White needs a perfect pipe. He’s not going to ride any old tracked out frozen U tube. Secondly the pipe looks to be built right in the middle of an avalanche zone. So I’m still sitting on the fence and saying this is closer to rumour then reality. Either way I would suggest this. Mister Shawn White although a good snowboard (although I don’t dig his style) is scared. His dream of another Olympic gold are harder to see with so many sick pipe slayers out there. My guess is Shawn heard Jed won the Canadian Burton Open and got worried. Jed for Gold!

Time to sell the car
February 18th, 2009
So according to Reuters (read below) the US snowboard team has ran out of money. So being that the US is in major money troubles. We think the only option is for Mister Shaun White to sell his nice Lambo. This is great news for the rest of the world. Maybe it means that none of the US shredders will make it to the Olympics. That means Hampus has a chance for gold. That is if Hampus would even ride a pipe comp at the Olympics.

According to an article from Reuters:
The U.S. snowboard team does not have enough money to make it to the end of the World Cup season as the global economic crisis has stifled sponsorship and inflated costs, officials said on Friday.
“We are short (of enough money) to make it all the way through the season but we’ve known that since last summer when we did our budgeting,” U.S. national team head coach Peter Foley told Reuters.
“We thought they would find that money to get us through March but with the tightness of the economy we just haven’t been able to find it. It’s tight with sponsorship and donor dollars and everything costs more.
“We’re paying way more for over-weight fees on the airlines, plane tickets cost way more. Everything, gas costs more. It all adds up.”
Foley said budgets simply did not stretch to cover the costs like they did before.
“It’s really hard to make the same budget we had before go the distance we need it to,” he added.
The uncertain financial picture had no impact on the U.S. team’s performance at a World Cup event at Cypress Mountain on Friday as the Americans placed two athletes on the podium.
GREEN IS THE NEW PINK
February 17th, 2009
After ISPO I’ve had the chance to think a few things over. One being that many companies with in our small industry are trying to make a difference. It’s a good thing to see large companies making some sort of decision to make a difference. One thing that bothered me for such a long time was how certain companies would market their product as “environmentally friendly” but all they did was add some fancy wood to the topsheet and say it was good for the environment. To me that just doesn’t cut it. Now companies are making so much more effort. So Green boards are all over the market and it’s a good thing. So lets take a look at a few of the standout Green boards we think will be making good sales next season. These are three boards we liked of the masses. Almost every company is doing the Green Theme. In case you don’t know what “Green” means it’s basically the industry’s way of saying it’s environmentally friendly (miljövänlig).
Capita has got a nice Green Machine for next season. Recycled materials and a solid graphic and true Capita styling. Nice looking board. It’s the white board in the picture below

Here’s a video clip on Capita’s “Green” board.
Bataleon had a nice board on display at ISPO. Heck if I’m going to see more Polar bears humping on this earth I’ll for sure buy one of these boards.

Signal has backed the “Green” theme for a few seasons now. They are still producing the OG series under some pretty strict guidelines at their US factory. It’s a nice looking board with hand painted topsheets and due to the base material recycle program they got going on it pretty much means your going to get a one of a kind board. A portion of your purchase of this board goes to the Surf Rider Foundation.
