JUST SO YOU KNOW

It’s not that this is really interesting news or anything. In fact it’s news that is over two years old. Although I’ve been asked a number of times about this so I figured I’d share. As many of you know I’m a Canadian living here in Sweden. I lived pretty close to Whistler when I was back in Canada. During those times I was able to see the brand Nomis rise up from just an idea of a small tight crew living in Whistler. You would see limited product on a select group of people cruising around the village. Simon and Matt (both of them) did an amazing job of building the brand up. A couple years back now some major changes took place with in Nomis and it left many people wondering what was going on. The people I knew that worked there no longer worked there and offices moved and a ton of other mysterious power moves where made. It was covered in secrecy and no one really got the honest truth about what was up. Rumor was that they where getting help from a company in the US. To what degree was this help? Well it’s not news to me but here’s the words straight from the source. ”Brand Base purchased Nomis a few year ago after meeting the Chamberlain brothers at ispo”. So there you have it. Simon and Matt still call allot of the shots and still have their design crew up in Vancouver. Although for those of you that were still thinking they are the backbone of Nomis. Sadly not. The gear is still super nice and they continue to grow. All I can say is Brand Base bought up a solid company and truthfully I think Nomis is the best brand they got.
