ISPO UPDATE

February 11th, 2010

Back home again after the craziness of ISPO. The show was pretty good this year. Although to be honest I had so much to do I really didn’t have the time to get to look around myself. I tried two times but seemed to always bump into someone and start talking. So needless to say the photo count will be a little less this year. Those will come up in a day or two.

Catching up with our brands is always a highlight. The Airblaster crew where in full swing and managed to give away almost all their catalogs by the end of the second day. The line is really clean this year. Not as much crazy colors although some of those styles still are in the line. It’s a much cleaner line with some amazing pieces in it. I’m sure you’ll all like it. Ashbury was also there and for a small booth it was usually always filled. Mostly by pros stopping by to talk with Nima, Lance and Mike. Three of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. I can’t say enough good things about those guys. As with Airblaster the Ashbury line is also very impressive. Pro models in a new frame style and some super sick soft goods. Rome boards and the whole lineup are also so impressive. I actually got my test board and will ride it this weekend. I’m going to shred a 151 Agent Rocker and I’ll surely let you know what it’s like. Signal was not at the show this year rather they will be shredding the pow in Italy. Nice choice if you ask me. Although we’ve seen the line and it’s classic Signal styling from the outerwear to the boards.

Some highlights where as follows. In day three Jed was skating the Volcom ramp and absolutely killed it. Showing some of the skater kids a few tricks. On the third day I went over to Holden with the Ashbury guys to check out what Mikey had pieced together. It’s mind blowing the detail those guys put into their products. Capita has a great looking line up of boards next season and will for sure sell well here in Sweden. I was actually kind of impressed with Omatics new boards as well. Hampus has a pro model again that looks real good. They changed factories from China to Elan in Austria and you can really see the difference. Maybe this year they will be able to deliver their boards on time. Random stuff was also seen and heard. So that’s it from me. Check the Ashbury blog to see what kind of action went down. We’ll have some photos up soon. Although there is plenty to be seen already on the net.

ANGRY LIKES IT

February 5th, 2010

Marcus from Permafrost sent me this link the other day. The Angry Snowboarder did some testing at SIA Denver and here is some feedback he gives us regarding some of the boards he tested. Next year should be interested as companies continue to push the tech. of snowboarding into the future. We can say he likes the new ROME Artifact Rocker. We feel this will be a great seller here in Sweden along with the Agent Rocker. Marcus was quick to replay on Angry’s post about his joy to shred the Anthem.  You can give the article a read HERE. Below is a pic of the upcoming Artifact non rocker. Also a fun looking board.

THE BEARICS WITH JOHNNY MILLER

February 4th, 2010

Airblaster rider Johnny Miller gets a little crazy at Bear. This stuff is put out by Etnies and 32.  Johnny also rides for 32/Etnies. He’s busted up at the moment though. Took a nasty fall some weeks ago. So enjoy some pre slam shredding from Johnny.

It’s that time of year again. Stuntwood is heading down to ISPO to meet up with the various brands we are working with. We already have all samples here in Sweden so it’s no big surprises for us. Although it’s always fun to check out what other brands got cooking for next season. We’ll be armed with camera’s to snap some pics for you the blog viewers. If you want us to take pics of something specific then let us know by dropping a comment. We’ll do our best to make you happy.

IT’S OFFICIAL

February 2nd, 2010

Here’s the story. The people at Stuntwood Distribution have teamed up with Permafrost Distribution to carry the distribution of Rome SDS here in Sweden. We’ve been big fans of the Rome brand and felt it was time to see Rome in Sweden on a larger scale. Stuntwood and Permafrost will only be working together on Rome and both companies will continue to carry their respective brands. You can look forward to seeing more of this great brand in Sweden in the near future. Along with that the opportunity to test them at the various test weekends.

See ya on the slopes!
